Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By registering for and participating in the LUMORA 2026 Astrophotography Competition, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not participate in the contest.

2. Eligibility

• The contest is open to Sri Lankan students and the general public as per the defined categories (School, University, Open).
• Participants must submit their own original work.
• Submissions must be received by the official deadline. Late entries may be disqualified.

3. Usage Rights & Copyright

You retain your copyright: The photographer retains full copyright ownership of all submitted images.

License to SEDS OUSL: By submitting an image, you grant SEDS OUSL a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to display, reproduce, and distribute your image for the following purposes:

• Promoting the LUMORA competition (past, present, and future).
• Displaying entries on the SEDS OUSL website and social media.
• Creating exhibitions or publications related to the event.

We will always aim to credit the photographer whenever the image is used.

4. Disqualification

SEDS OUSL reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:

• Contains inappropriate, offensive, or plagiarized content.
• Violates the intellectual property rights of others.
• Fails to comply with the technical requirements (e.g., lack of RAW file verification).
• Involves voting manipulation or unethical behavior.

5. Limitation of Liability

SEDS OUSL is not responsible for any technical malfunctions, lost or delayed data transmission, or hardware/software failures that may result in a lost submission. Participation is at your own risk.

6. Modifications

SEDS OUSL reserves the right to modify the contest rules, dates, or these Terms of Service at any time. Significant changes will be announced on our official channels.
